Formulas and assumptions

Each zone area = length x width.
Raw area = the sum of all rectangular zone areas.
Waste-adjusted area = raw area x (1 + waste percent / 100).
Boxes required = waste-adjusted area / box coverage, rounded up to a whole box.
Layout direction, board pattern, damaged pieces, stairs, thresholds, and supplier pack coverage can change actual flooring needed.
