Formulas and assumptions

Each area = length x width.
Total surface area = the sum of all rectangular floor or wall areas.
Waste-adjusted area = total surface area x (1 + waste percent / 100).
One tile area = tile width x tile height after converting millimetres to metres.
Tiles required = waste-adjusted area / one tile area, rounded up to whole tiles.
Boxes required = tiles required / tiles per box, rounded up to whole boxes.

Grout and joint width are layout considerations. This V1 does not attempt to calculate grout quantity or make installation claims.
